Mountain Time
Mountain Time refers to a time zone in the United States that includes
CSU in
Fort Collins, Colorado. The current Mountain Time is
9:16ᴀᴍ MST on Thursday November 21.
There are several variations:
- Mountain Daylight Time (MDT) is when Daylight Saving Time is
observed, between the second Sunday in March and the first Sunday in
November.
- Mountain Standard Time (MST) is the rest of the year.
- Mountain Time (MT) is either of the two, depending on the date.
It’s MST now.
Fun facts:
- The “Standard” in “Mountain Standard Time” does not mean
“official”, it means “non‑daylight‑saving”.
- It’s “Saving”, not “Savings”.
- There is rarely any benefit to using the terms MDT or MST, and it’s
annoying when they’re misused. Write MT and be done with it.
