Connecting to a CS Department Linux Computer from Anything but Windows

From Linux or Mac OSX

• Start a terminal window.
• In the terminal, type: ssh -X username@machine.cs.colostate.edu
• Instead of username, use your eID.
• Instead of machine, use the name of one of the Linux Lab computers.
• That’s a capital X in -X.

From a phone or tablet

There are SSH apps that allow you to connect to a terminal on the CSU CS Department Linux computers. Some are free, some may cost you something. I wouldn’t try to do homework on a phone, a tablet maybe.
