Object1_Sphere

Stripping objects of their superficial surfaces allows the viewer to engage with the core ideas and content that generates interest within the entity itself. Identity is not defined by outward appearance, but instead by the "structures" within. How a person presents themselves within our world, and especially in our contemporary world, is a product of these "structures." It is only by stripping away these outer surfaces that we can engage with the core of an entity and truly understand their existence.

Infill series is an exploration of these structures used to define outer shells. Each object is simple geometry, but with no outer surface, instead only the infill support structures are shown in order to emphasize the unique qualities within.

Object1_Sphere is a series of three spheres from Infill, 150mm in diameter, printed with no outer shell and only the interior infill pattern. Each instance of the sphere uses the same slicer settings, but by reslicing and reprinting different imperfections are created that make each individual instance unique.
