Food Jam is a cooperative card game inspired by the Extra Credits August 2019 Game Jam theme of Passage and their Extra Credit Challenge to use eating jam as a game mechanic. Passage was interpreted as the process of overcoming obstacles to reach a goal.

Food Jam tasks players with building a balanced plate of food. However, many obstacles arise throughout the game

Much like the real world, food security and nutrition are rife with obstacles that prevent many from eating a balanced diet. These include income inequality, dietary or health restrictions, and food expiration. It is only by navigating these obstacles together that food security and balanced nutrition can be attained.
