Property-based software engineering measurement

This Discussion Assignment asks you to read and comment on the following paper: L. Briand, S. Morasco, and V. Basili, Property-based software engineering measurement, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, Vol. 22, N. 1, 1996, pp. 68-86.

Part A (6 points)

1. Read the properties paper. Some things to consider.
   • Is the model of systems and modules adequate and complete?
   • Are the attributes appropriate?
   • Do you agree with the properties for each of the attributes?
   • What do think about the included attributes? What is missing?
   • What makes this paper difficult (or easy) to read?
2. Post 3-5 relevant comments and questions concerning the paper.

Part B (4 points)

1. Read the online postings and refer to the in-class discussion of the paper. Have you changed your opinion of the paper after the in-class discussion and further review of the paper and comments?
